Through research, reportage, and travel, Mexicanista explores Mexican culture as found in its largest cities to smallest pueblos, and beyond its borders, primarily through the lens of female perspectives.

Features and profiles spotlight women, past and present.

Mexicanistas are trailblazing entrepreneurs, artists, thinkers, and activists. They are women in action. Women in rebellion. Women in reflection. Women rooted in both indigenous and modern traditions.

By probing their challenges and celebrating their originality, creativity and innovation, we connect the dots between these women and the influence they are having in their communities and beyond.

Why Mexicanista is in English: Because we are writing for an international audience, as well as covering Mexicanistas who are Mexican American and potentially from a variety of backgrounds, we use primarily English. As Mexicanista expands, we look forward to including coverage in Spanish.
